Globalization is often about transcending walls and boundaries. Walls are created to keep out certain influences. The Great Wall of China was built to protect the Chinese civilization from barbarians. The Berlin Wall was symbolic of the Cold War, and the choice between two systems. Walls can be viewed as creating a dichotomy marking the other.The War on Terror was presented by George W. Bush as a choice of being with us (US) or the terrorists.
